Taxonomy
Tegulorhynchia was named by Chapman and Crespin (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani R Sepkoski's reference number: 405]. It is extant. Its type is Rhynchonella squamosa.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellidae by Cooper (1957); to Hemithyridae by Cooper (1959); to Hemithyrididae by Craig (2000); to Notosariidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
