Taxonomy
Aquila bivia was named by Emslie and Czaplewski (1999). Its type specimen is UF 30015, a limb element (right carpometacarpus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Inglis IA, which is in a Gelasian terrestrial horizon in Florida.
