Trifidorostellum was named by Sartenaer (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-m C Ms Sepkoski's reference number: 1,25]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Pugnacidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
