Taxonomy
Rapha liasina was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Strensham, Worcestershire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Elcana liasina by Handlirsch (1906), Cockerell (1915) and Zessin (1987); it was recombined as Panorpidium liasina by Eades et al. (2012).
