Taxonomy
Galaxea salayarensis was named by Bromfield (2013). It is not extant. Its type locality is Benteng West, ISS1.4, Salayar Island, which is in a Pliocene reef, buildup or bioherm rudstone/grainstone in the Salayar Formation of Indonesia.
