Taxonomy
Alispiriferella was named by Waterhouse and Waddington (1982) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-u P Guad Sepkoski's reference number: 881]. Its type is Spiriferella ordinaria.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); to Spiriferellinae by Waterhouse (2004); and to Spiriferellidae by Williams et al. (2006).
