Taxonomy
Fulica podagrica was named by Brodkorb (1965). Its type specimen is UF 7458, a limb element (left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Spring Bay, which is in the Pleistocene/Holocene of horizon Barbados.
