Taxonomy
Metidelia kostinae was named by Sharov (1961). Its type specimen is PIN 1424/2, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Kaltan (PIN collection 1424), which is in a Roadian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Mitina Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Sojanidelia kostinae by Storozhenko (1992) and Storozhenko (1998).
