Sinogramma was named by Hong (1976). Its type is Sinogramma reticularis. It is the type genus of Sinogrammitidae.

It was assigned to Plesiogrammatidae by Hong (1976); to Sinogrammitidae by Hong (1982); and to Blattoptera by Storozhenko (1997).
