Camarophorella was named by Hall and Clarke (1894) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u C Tour-u Sepkoski's reference number: 2,25,955]. It is not extant. Its type is Pentamerus lenticularis. It is the type genus of Camarophorellinae.
It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Camarophorellinae by Williams et al. (2002).
