Taxonomy
Mesoblattula colorata was named by Vishnyakova (1982). Its type specimen is PIN 1487/107, an elytra (Left elytrum without costal region & anal area), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Iya Locality (PIN collection 1487), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small horizon in the Cheremkhovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Blattula colorata by Clapham (2023).
