Mesoblattula piveteaui was named by Laurentiaux (1946). It is an impression. Its type locality is Tchakras, Amasra region, which is in a Rhaetian lacustrine marl in the Çakrazboz Formation of Turkey.
It was recombined as Blattula piveteaui by Clapham (2023).
