Taxonomy
Mesoscytina anglica was named by Popov et al. (1994). Its type specimen is BMNh In 10988, a forewing (right forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Morton Bagot, which is in a Rhaetian marine limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Mesocimex anglicus by Szwedo (2011); it was recombined as Cicadocoris anglicus by Dong et al. (2013) and Dong et al. (2014).
