Darvasia was named by Likharev (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: P Wc Sepkoski's reference number: 1,538]. Its type is Darvasia edelsteini.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paeckelmanellinae by Williams et al. (2006).
