Taxonomy
Davidsonina was named by Schuchert and LeVene (1929) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-l C Serp-l Sepkoski's reference number: 400]. It is the type genus of Davidsoninidae.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Davidsoninidae by Williams et al. (2006).
