Eliva was named by Frederiks (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-l P Dora Sepkoski's reference number: 7,417,1128]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); to Elivininae by Waterhouse (2004); and to Purdonellinae by Williams et al. (2006).
