It was recombined as Erirhinus aethiops by Cong and Ashworth (1996) and Cong et al. (1996); it was recombined as Notaris aethiops by Coope et al. (1961), Aalto et al. (1984), Kiselev and Nazarov (2009) and Ashworth and Nelson (2014).
