Taxonomy
Aeschna voesendorfensis was named by Papp and Mandl (1951). Its type specimen is NHMW 18/1952, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Brunn-Vösendorf, which is in a Messinian lacustrine - large mudstone in Austria.
It was corrected as Aeschna vosendorfensis by Papp and Mandl (1951); it was recombined as Aeshna voesendorfensis by Nel et al. (1994).
