Argopecten ericellus

Taxonomy
Pecten (Plagioctenium) ericellus was named by Hertlein (1929). Its type specimen is CAS 2998, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 1132 - Pacific Beach, which is in a Piacenzian marine horizon in the San Diego Formation of California.

It was recombined as Chlamys (Argopecten) ericellus by Hertlein and Grant (1972); it was recombined as Argopecten ericellus by Moore (1984).
