Taxonomy
Phylloblatta stirrupi was named by Bolton (1917). Its type specimen is Manchester Museum L 5.551, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (Mark Stirrup coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic mudstone in the Commentry Shales Formation of France.

It was recombined as Phyloblatta stirrupi by Handlirsch (1922).
