Taxonomy
Arca (Navicula) terminumbonis was named by Grant, IV and Gale (1931). Its type specimen is S.D.S.N.H. 79, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SDSNH Loc. 207, Elsmere Canyon, which is in a Pliocene marine siliciclastic in California.
It was recombined as Arca (Arca) terminumbonis by Reinhart (1943), Moore (1983) and Hall (2002); it was recombined as Arca terminumbonis by Kern (1973); it was recombined as Angulararca terminumbonis by Hendy (2020).
