Pectunculus strigilatus was named by Sowerby (1833). It is extant.

It was recombined as Glycymeris (Tucetona) strigilata by Aguilar (1987); it was recombined as Tucetona strigilata by Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012) and Hendy (2020).
