Taxonomy
Hyattidina was named by Schuchert (1913). Its type is Atrypa congesta. It is the type genus of Hyattidinidae.

It was assigned to Hyattidininae by Sheehan (1977); to Hindellinae by Mitchell (1977) and Villas and Cocks (1996); to Hyattidinidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002).
