Taxonomy
Waeringoscorpio westerwaldensis was named by Poschmann et al. (2008). Its type specimen is PWL2007/5000 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Güllesheimer Bach, Bürdenbach, Westerwald (Mainz collection), which is in a Pragian estuary/bay siltstone in Germany.
