Crenella columbiana was named by Dall (1897). It is extant.

It was recombined as Megacrenella columbiana by Habe and Ito (1965); it was recombined as Solamen columbiana by Coan et al. (2000); it was recombined as Solamen columbianum by Hendy (2021).
