Qiyunshanpus was named by Yu (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Qiyunshanpus xiaohutianensis.

It was assigned to Pachycephalosauria by Yu (1998).

Qiyunshanpus xiaohutianensis was named by Yu (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Xiaohutian, Huanshang tracksite, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian channel sandstone/conglomerate in the Xiaoyan Formation of China. It is the type species of Qiyunshanpus.

It was considered a nomen nudum by Xing et al. (2014).
