Taxonomy
Igarkiella carinata was named by Parkhaev (2001) [Parkhaev in Gravestock et al., 2001]. Its type specimen is PIN 4664/1260, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Carinopelta carinata by Wagner (2023).
