Taxonomy
Otiorrhynchus boettingensis was named by van Emden (1931). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Böttingen (SMNS collection), which is in a Sarmatian spring travertine in the Thermalsinterkalk Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Otiorhynchus boettingensis by Yunakov and Kirejtshuk (2011); it was considered a nomen dubium by Legalov (2015).
