Taxonomy
Plateumaris kinugasana was named by Hayashi (2001). Its type specimen is OMNH TI-130, an other (pronotum), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ykw-01, Koyasawa River, which is in a Messinian mire/swamp siltstone in the Takamine Formation of Japan.
