Qatrania basiodontos
Taxonomy
Abuqatrania basiodontos was named by Simons et al. (2001). Its type specimen is CGM 42841, a mandible (right dentary preserving p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry L-41 (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian lacustrine mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
It was recombined as Qatrania basiodontos by Beard (2013).
