Taxonomy

Phricodothyris was named by George (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-l P Dora Sepkoski's reference number: 1,435,1128]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Phricodothyridinae by Williams et al. (2006).

Condrathyris was named by Minato (1951).

It was synonymized subjectively with Phricodothyris by Williams et al. (2006).

Neophricadothyris was named by Likharev (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-l P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 7,411].

It was reranked as Squamularia (Neophricodothyris) by Reed (1944); it was misspelled as Neophricodothyris by Fantini Sestini (1965) and Sepkoski (2002); it was synonymized subjectively with Phricodothyris by Williams et al. (2006).

It was assigned to Squamularia by Reed (1944); and to Spiriferida by Fantini Sestini (1965) and Sepkoski (2002).
