Taxonomy
Palaearca oboloidea was named by Hicks (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Side of Ogof Hên, Ramsey Island, which is in a Moridunian coastal mudstone in the Ogof Hen Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Cyrtodonta oboloidea by Carter (1971).
