Pseudospondylospira was named by Hoover (1991) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-u Tr Nori-l Sepkoski's reference number: 975]. It is not extant. Its type is Pseudospondylospira perplexa.
It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dagyspiriferinae by Williams et al. (2006).
