Lasius ophthalmicus

Taxonomy
Formica ophthalmica was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is UMJG&P 77.646e, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.

It was recombined as Lasius ophthalmicus by Pongrácz (1928) and Dlussky and Putyatina (2014).
