Taxonomy
Syrphopsis globosiceps was named by Zeuner (1931). It is a mold. Its type locality is Böttingen (SMNS collection), which is in a Sarmatian spring travertine in the Thermalsinterkalk Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Syrphopsis.
