Taxonomy
Spondylospira was named by Cooper (1942) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-l Tr Nori-u Sepkoski's reference number: 442,975]. It is not extant. Its type is Spondylospira reesidei. It is the type genus of Spondylospirinae, Spondylospiridae.
It was assigned to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Spondylospirinae by Williams et al. (2006).
