Spirigera (Stolzenburgiella) was named by Bittner (1902) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis Sepkoski's reference number: 1271].

It was reranked as Stolzenburgiella by Williams et al. (2002) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Spirigera by Bittner (1902); to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Misoliinae by Williams et al. (2002).
