Taxonomy
Terebratula dutempleana was named by d'Orbigny (1851). Its type specimen is B61531 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was corrected as Terebratula dutempliana by d'Orbigny (1849); it was recombined as Moutonithyris dutempliana by Owen (1988); it was recombined as Moutonithyris dutempleana by Sulser and Friebe (2002).
