Taxonomy
Forficula paleoligura was named by Nel et al. (1994). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-R.10398, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Camoins-les-Bains (MNHN coll), which is in an Oligocene lacustrine marl in France.
