Ponerites nitidus
Taxonomy
Ponera nitida was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is UMJG&P 77.622, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Poneropsis nitida by Heer (1867); it was recombined as Dolichoderus nitidus by Shattuck (1994) and Bolton (2012); it was recombined as Ponerites nitidus by Dlussky and Putyatina (2014).
