Gyrophioceras mineralense
Taxonomy
Paracaloceras (Gyrophioceras) mineralense was named by Taylor (1998). Its type specimen is NWMNH 25035, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is New York Canyon, Shoshone Mountains (B. oregonensis assemblage), which is in an Angulata marine limestone in the Sunrise Formation of Nevada.
It was recombined as Gyrophioceras mineralense by Longridge et al. (2008).
