Taxonomy
Limburgina antiqua was named by Laurentiaux (1950). Its type specimen is GBNM Heerlen 479, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Boring 116, 768 m depth, which is in a Marsdenian marine siliciclastic in the Netherlands. It is the type species of Limburgina.
