Taxonomy
Rectithyris whiskyi was named by Sandy (1991). Its type specimen is D.8347.11 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bibby Point, D.8347, James Ross Island, Whisky Bay Formation, which is in an Albian/Coniacian marine siltstone/sandstone in the Whisky Bay Formation of Antarctica.
