Taxonomy
Goniatites subbilobatus was named by Munster (1839). Its type specimen is BSP AS VII 26, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Acutimitoceras subbilobatum by Bockwinkel and Ebbighausen (2006).
