Becscia was named by Copper (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l S Ldov-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1179]. It is not extant. Its type is Becscia scissura.

It was assigned to Septatrypinae by Copper (1995) and Williams et al. (2002); and to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002).
