Taxonomy
Gibbirhynchia sphaerica was named by Cooper (1989). It is not extant. Its type locality is Khashm Hisan, S1496, which is in a Bathonian shallow subtidal limestone in the Dhruma Formation of Saudi Arabia.
It was recombined as Globirhynchia sphaerica by Feldman et al. (2012).
