Taxonomy
Rotopericyclus (Hammatocyclus) brazerensis was named by Gordon (1986). Its type specimen is USNM 377561, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Hammatocyclus brazerensis by Ebbighausen et al. (2010).
