Taxonomy
Tornoceras rhysum was named by Clarke (1898). Its type specimen is NYSM 4092, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Aulatornoceras auris by Korn and Klug (2002); it was recombined as Aulatornoceras rhysum by House and Kirchgasser (2008).
