Taxonomy
Anglogomphaeschna eocenica was named by Nel and Fleck (2014). Its type specimen is BMNH I.8793, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Anglogomphaeschna.
