Taxonomy
Reticycloceras girtyi was named by Gordon (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 119035, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 1487E, Pilot Mountain, which is in a Pendleian marine shale in the Fayetteville Formation of Arkansas.
